About
“Immerse yourself, surround yourself, and you will astound yourself.”
Patrick “Connor” Sherrill is an American wildlife and conservation photographer, guide, educator, and storyteller.
His work in photography takes a visually artistic approach while also spreading a message of ethical wildlife viewing. His goal in every image is to tell a story while spreading the message of keeping wildlife wild.
Connor’s photographic journey began in the Texas Hill Country where he spent much of his time photographing small mammals and songbirds. It was here that he purchased his first camera and learned how to find beauty in the small things in life. When was eighteen he took a trip to Iceland followed by a trip to Southeast Alaska. There he discovered his love for the North and its brisk climate. With this in mind, he began his journey north.
When he was twenty he moved to the wilds of Yellowstone National Park which is often called “The American Serengeti.” Here he noticed many things from the American Bison as they moved freely and gracefully to the Grey Wolves as they worked tirelessly together to hunt their next meal. However, he noticed something greater than this. He learned how fragile this beautiful ecosystem is. This began his mission of wildlife conservation and ethical observation.
Now, he spends his summers in Southeast Alaska “The Last Frontier” where he works with a wildlife tour company that practices ethical wildlife viewing and educates communities around the world on good wildlife conservation practices.
In a world that is incredibly fast paced and progressive, Connor strives to demonstrate how important it is to slow down and recognize the beauty in this planet and how fragile it is.
He writes, “When you immerse yourself in a place and look for all of the beautiful things it has to offer, and then you surround yourself in a culture of like minded individuals, you will astound yourself in everything that you do.”
